  • 1 ⁄2 cup water
  • 1 ⁄2 cup sugar
  • 1 ⁄2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 2-inch stick cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 ⁄2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider
