Product Review: Taza Wicked Dark Chocolate

PRODUCT REVIEW: Yes, this chocolate is indeed “wicked dark”–as in 95-percent dark chocolate. But it’s got so much more going for it than that bold distinction. The bar, which breaks into cute little rectangles and is impressed with a barely-there trellis pattern, reminisces the Mexican chocolate you stir into hot milk–only waaaay more subtle and elegant. The chocolate is stone-ground, so it’s intentionally slightly gritty, but it’s simultaneously silken and creamy with grownup fruity flavor, a very slight sweetness, and a pleasing, mildly bitter finish. It’s also certified organic, certified GF, non-GMO verified, dairy free, soy free, and vegan and contains trace amounts of almonds, cashews, coconut, hazelnuts, and pecans, too, though you won’t taste them. Keto and low-carb chocolate lovers will appreciate that one 201-calorie serving (with two servings per bar), contains 6 net carbs total, including only 2 grams of sugar. Talk about “good for you” chocolate! Plus, it’s so satisfying, you don’t even need to eat a whole serving to get the feel-good chocolate vibes. What more can we say? We flat-out love this chocolate and think it’s one of the most distinctive, best ultra dark chocolate and best vegan chocolate bars out there.
