This ultra-dark and rich vegan hot cocoa is so popular at my house, I should buy stock in Guittard, as I use their “rouge” cocoa powder for this treat–Every. Single. Day. It’s so wholesome, I don’t feel bad having more than one cup. Try it and forgive me for your next drink obsession.
- 2 tablespoons good-quality unsweetened cocoa powder we like Guittard Cocoa Rouge Cocoa Powder
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk we prefer Califia
In a microwave-safe mug, mix together the cocoa powder, maple syrup, and salt until smooth (it'll take a minute). Whisk in the milk until combined then briefly microwave until your desired temperature. Stir and devour!
