Canyon Bakehouse New Buns and Rolls Fast Facts

All Canyon Bakehouse products have pretty new packaging. But their wonderful recipe formulations for existing products remain the same. In other words, great taste, new outfit!

With the arrival of stay-fresh burger buns last year, there are now two types of Canyon Bakehouse buns to choose from (stay-fresh and frozen). They come four to a pack and have great taste and texture. The main difference is how they are packaged and stored.

New Stay-fresh gluten-free Burger Buns: Look for stay-fresh packaged buns in the bread aisle. They stay fresh, unopened, for up to 90 days from the date on the bag clasp thanks to special sealed packaging. Once opened, store the buns airtight and eat them within a week (don’t freeze). Stay-fresh is a great choice if you don’t have room in the freezer (they should be stored at room temperature) or want to take them on a trip (Hello, camping!).

Frozen buns: Frozen buns are just that: buns found in the gluten-free frozen foods section. They’re best stored in the freezer until you’re ready to use them and once you do, store them on your kitchen counter for up to 7 to 10 days. They’re the perfect selection if you prefer to freeze your bread products, or plan to go through your buns and rolls over a longer period of time, like weeks or months (they keep for several months frozen, even after opening).

Worth noting: While they are essentially the same product with different packaging and storage, there is one more difference between stay-fresh and frozen buns: their names. Stay-fresh are “Burger Buns” and frozen are “Hamburger Buns.” Why? Different names are required for grocery-store distribution and inventory purposes!

Bun Ingredients: water, brown rice flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, cane sugar, cultured brown rice flour, expeller-pressed canola oil, contains 2% or less of each of the following: egg whites, xanthin gum, yeast, sea salt, baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, potato flour, mono calcium phosphate), eggs, enzymes. CONTAINS: EGGS

Canyon Bakehouse released brand new gluten-free sub rolls! Hooray for new rolls! About six inches long each and available in four-packs, they’re just the thing for summer fare, including classic submarine sandwiches and lobster rolls. You can find these new summer and anytime staples in the freezer section of many grocery stores nationwide, including Meijer, Sprouts, Hy-Vee, Fresh Thyme, and Natural Grocers. They’re starting to get widely distributed this May (2021).  Check Canyon Bakehouse’s store finder if you want to know where to get them near you or order from Instacart.com.
